About the Campaign

They went from nothing to quite big in just over a month. 

This sweet girl has mammary tumors down the entire side of belly, and with their rapid growth the doctor wants to remove them absolutely as soon as possible.

Marilyn’s owner (Brooke) has had her since Marilyn was a puppy, and never got her spayed because Marilyn has always been a house dog. She’s never been bred or had puppies, and Brooke didn’t know that spaying considerably reduces the chance of developing mammary tumors.

Brooke took Marilyn to Blue Ridge Plaza Animal Clinic in Missouri, where we have had a number of animals treated successfully, including Pixel from a few months ago (Pixel’s campaign), and we have talked to Dr. Tarantino there about this case. Marilyn had a chest x-ray, and blood tests, and Dr. Tarantino sees no sign the cancer has spread, and says Marilyn’s blood work and her heart are strong and she is good for surgery!

Brooke spent over $500 on that visit, and she doesn’t have much money. Her elderly father recently had to move into her apartment with her, and she delivers newspapers for a living. Coming up with the money for this surgery is just not something she can do.
