About the Campaign

Can’t eat comfortably—extractions are the only fix.

Mamas has stomatitis, an excruciating mouth disease. She’s hurting and not eating well. Steroids and antibiotics calm the flare-ups for a bit, but the pain returns. Her vet says the solution is a full dental extraction so she can finally eat without agony.

Clara has done everything she can. Three months ago she paid $1,400 at Century City Animal Hospital for a cleaning and some extractions, and since then she’s been paying $300–$400 every visit for meds that only buy time. Her Care Credit is maxed out after saving another sick cat, and Mamas still needs the definitive surgery.

Mamas’ story started in a backyard. She showed up pregnant, delivered five kittens, and Clara worked with a rescue to get them all fixed. Only Mamas would come inside. Over the years, tragedy hit—one kitten was killed by a car, another by FIP—and now Clara is fighting to keep Mamas healthy.

Clara is retired on about $1,400 a month after multiple surgeries of her own. She was a vocational nurse. She’s recovering from bladder surgery and barely getting by. Her husband is a realtor in a brutal market and work has slowed to a crawl. They’re tapped out, but they won’t give up on Mamas.

Please donate today so Mamas can have the full-mouth extractions that end the pain for good. This surgery has an excellent prognosis—most cats eat, groom, and live comfortably afterward. Your donation moves her from temporary relief to a real cure. Estimate below, click to enlarge:
