About the Campaign

Emergency!

Luna has an internal obstruction.

Her owner Juliana did not know what was wrong with Luna and took her to an emergency vet. There they did numerous tests, including an ultrasound, and concluded she had a bowel obstruction. They attempted to “flush” her out, but this did not work.

In this case the only option is surgery to remove the obstruction. And it is very urgent, without surgery within about 24 hours, Luna will die (or have to be put to sleep). She is a young cat, only five years old.

Additionally, Juliana is a social worker and did not even have the money for the ER, which ended up over $2000. She managed to borrow all that money, but now that surgery is needed this is an additional cost, and is nearly $8000!

Fortunately one of the doctors there contacted us, and with the doctor we were able to get Luna admitted for emergency surgery at the Santa Barbara Humane Society. The total cost will be just at $2000, substantially less than the emergency hospital.

Luna when a kitten:

All donations are for Luna, and paid for her surgery. It is very urgent, we have to get some payment in, so if you are thinking to help this little kitty, please make a donation right now! We have verified this case with the owner, the ER doctor and the Humane Society. You can see part of the ER bill below (click to enlarge):
