Rescued from the streets in Mexico
Carlos and his family were down in Mexico when they saw a man in the street with a puppy. It was just after the New Years and the guy walking the pup said he couldn’t take care of the pup. It was thought that the pup maybe ran away after being scared from the fireworks. Carlos had his wife and daughters in the car and they all decided to take the pup back home to the states with them.
Limping gets worse
For the last 3-4 weeks Luci has gone from limping to not putting any pressure on the leg. Carlos says there wasn’t an incident that he knows of that torn the ligament. The vet diagnosed Luci with a tear in her back leg. The vet discussed two different surgeries for Luci, TTA and TPLO. The vet suggested that TPLO would be the best outcome in his mind for Luci.
Luci isn’t allowed to go outside with the other dogs so she doesn’t get excited and make her leg worse, she is only allowed out to potty now. Carlos says Luci just wants to be outside playing with her sister. Carlos and the family try to keep Luci from jumping on the bed but there will be times where she will try to jump and just fall down.
Luci and Riley
The vet says after the surgery that is when Luci will be on crate rest and be on a strict walking schedule.
Help this beautiful dog out!
Carlos and his family don’t have the extra funds to pay $3,000 for her leg surgery. Carlos has recently had a change of employment to bring him to 100% commission and his wives hours have been cut.
