About the Campaign
Lily is only 2 years-old
She has torn ligaments in both knees and needs surgery to repair them. As you can see in the video, she is now having a lot of trouble walking, and it is clearly painful.
Her owners took her to the vet to be put-to-sleep. They had a chihuahua that would always attack Lily. In fact, when Lily was taken to the vet, she had numerous scars and actual holes in her ears from these attacks. Well, one day Lily bit back, and the Chihuahua died from the attack.
The vet, however, refused to put Lily to sleep, as they knew her from previous visits and considered her a sweet and well-behaved dog. The vet reached out for rescues, and Donna Clark’s rescue took her in and found a foster home with another Pitt Bull type dog.
Lily is doing very well
Lily has been doing great at this foster home! She is a very sweet dog, behaves well, and gets along great with the family’s dog. Clearly she was just a victim of circumstances, and probably didn’t understand her own strength in relation to the little Chihuahua.
The rescue now believes Lily can go to a forever home, her behavior is fine, but with this knee problem and it getting worse, Lily will need surgery first. They have arranged surgery with a good vet at a very reasonable price (you can see the estimate below).
Let’s help this young dog have a happy and healthy full life! Please consider a donation. All donations made here are specifically for Lily’s surgery! Thank you.
