His tumor suddenly burst!
Infection risk and necrosis risk!
Poor Mr. Kooper, we had a plan, but now that is out the window….. He had been suffering from a tumor on his chin for some time. In April it really started to get worse, and his owner (Mariann) took him to her general practice vet. They agreed to do the surgery, and it was scheduled.
But on surgery day, the surgeon changed his mind and said that because of the location and size of the tumor (on the chin, big) he would not be able to sew up and pack the wound, and the dog would need to have surgery by a specialist.
Though Mariann didn’t get a written estimate, she was told this would cost $3000-$4000, which she just didn’t have. So more time was spent looking for help….. finally, through Kacey Montoya of Fix’N Fidos, Mariann was connected to us. We then arranged for her to get the surgery for a lower price, about $1500 and we were working on a pre-surgical exam, and scheduling etc…. and then on Friday, June 5th, Kooper’s tumor burst.
Blood all over the place, it was not good. We managed to get Kooper to the vet, stabilized and surgery is set for early in the week. The problem is that Mariann does not have the money for Mr. Kooper, and though we have gotten the surgery arranged for a very sizable discount, it is still not free.
If you can help Mr. Kooper out with a donation, we know he would appreciate it! This is an urgent case, so we really need to get his story out there. Not everyone can donate right now, but you can share his story please! Let’s help this sweet boy who has been a great dog for over 10 years GET HIS TUMOR SURGERY! Woooooooooooof! Thank you!
