Painful and Concerning Swelling

Kona is an 8-year-old German Shepherd who’s been Cameron’s loyal companion since she was a puppy. Normally energetic and playful, Kona started acting strangely in late April—hiding in corners, refusing to play, and licking herself constantly.

That’s when Cameron noticed the swelling: her teats were enlarged, warm, and firm to the touch. Her fur in that area had darkened too, and she seemed uncomfortable and withdrawn.

With only $15 to his name and payday still days away, Cameron is desperate for help. He was recently denied CareCredit and is recovering from months of financial strain after switching jobs to better support his elderly grandparents, whose home burned down in the Etton Fire. He’s been driving them to appointments and errands ever since, all while falling behind on bills and rent.

Kona’s symptoms may point to a mammary gland infection, tumor, or other serious condition. She has just been to the vet, and the estimate is below. The doctor wants to remove some cysts and test them. Without help, Cameron simply can’t get her the care she needs.
