About the Campaign
He got a little older,
and they didn’t want him any more
Koffee was stray for months. People saw him running around 70th street in south Los Angeles, and one day a nice person finally got him to come inside their business, and he just collapsed.
The Facebook post asking for help:
He’s a very sweet dog, no growling, and a cutie. Certainly, he’s not able to live on the streets on his own. It’s really sad, his owner used to even have an Instagram page for him, last post was in 2020… but when we contacted her from microchip information, she didn’t want him back. When he was young and healthy, he was fun… but three years ago he needed dental work. They got an estimate, but didn’t want to pay. Now his teeth are so bad, they will probably all have to be pulled.
His old Instagram:
He got sick, and started peeing in the house, so they just put him in the back yard and left him there. Then he got out, and they just didn’t care. Didn’t look for him, and don’t want him back.
When he was found:
Fortunately good people rescued him and got him to us. He had really dirty ears, a cut paw, and was covered in fleas. Oh, and he had worms too the poor thing! But we got all that cleaned up now.
Testing results are pending, but it looks pretty certain that he has Cushing’s disease. It takes a number of tests to determine this correctly and get the medication right, but once that is done the medication works very well and most dogs can be perfectly normal and happy as long as they get their pill everyday.
In foster home now, waiting for his test results:
The tests are expensive though, and at least three are needed, possibly more. And once he gets back to normal from proper medication, this poor boy needs dental surgery! So we need everyone to help Koffee… donations go right to his care. And, once he is doing well, we will find him a great home, that will keep for forever!
