About the Campaign
Tumor caught early!
But it has to go, and surgery is tricky.
This sweet lab (just watch the video above) got rescue by his family when he was a pup. Someone breeding dogs got in over their head and had to many puppies, some of which got distemper. They had to have them all go right away, so Kleetus got adopted just under 8 weeks of age. His family took great care of him, and he grew up to be a fabulous dog, but now at age 12 he may have lymphoma.
Kleetus has a tumor on his butt. Family didn’t notice it right away, because of the location, but as soon as they did they got him to the doctor, who in turn sent him to a specialist. They spent almost $1000 already getting him diagnosed and some treatment. Right now we do not know definitively if it is cancer, though that is strongly suspected. The doctor has a bottom line: The tumor has to be removed.
Once removed they can do a biopsy. So far there is no indication that cancer has spread, so if the tumor can be removed soon, Kleetus’s prognosis is very good!
Kleetus’s mom did office work, and lost her job due to COVID. Good news is that she recently got another job! But, the family is behind financially from over a year of tough times, and doesn’t have much money available. They have already spent about $1000 on Kleetus, and they do have some money available for his surgery, but they need help covering the bill, and unfortunately their credit has run out and they cannot get a Care Credit loan. All donations are for Kleetus and we only pay the vet clinic directly, never the owner, so your donation will go directly to Kleetus for his surgery! Can you help Kleetus today?
