Painful Kidney Stone!
Kitty has a stone, and it is blocking his pee, partially. It is painful, and getting worse. The only solution is surgery.
Kitty was found stray in a park about six years ago, and Jeanette took him in as a kitten. He has been her cat ever since, and had been healthy and happy. In late June Jeanette went into the hospital for a couple weeks, she is 78 years-old and has numerous health issues. During that time her daughter was watching Kitty, and he peed blood outside of the litter box.
The next day she took him to the vet, who initially just treated him for a UTI, and infection, and said to come back in two weeks. Well, two weeks later he was still having trouble peeing, peeing outside the box (which is not normal for Kitty) with traces of blood. So, this time they did more tests and an x-ray and discovered that Kitty has a large kidney stone in his bladder.
Jeanette us partially blind, and uses a walker and cane. She is now out of the hospital and back with Kitty, but she lives on a small fixed income of social security, and does not have enough money to get Kitty surgery. The family already spent over $1000 on Kitty, and has about $500 available, so Kitty needs more to get this surgery done. The doctor says the stone is only going to get bigger, and eventually it will fully block Kitty from peeing, and then it will be a life-or-death emergency. So, let’s get Kitty surgery now, before that happens! The estimate is below, click to enlarge:
