About the Campaign

Little stray

Louisiana kitten!

Kitkat was hiding under Aliyeh’s car in the small town of Gueydan. It was a rainy day, and Aliyeh coaxed the little kitty right out from under the car and Kitkat started meowing and rubbing on her, very friendly.

Aliyeh took her in, and immediately noticed a couple of ticks. Then a few more. And then wow! Kitkat was full of tick and fleas!!

She got her bathed, got all the bugs off. Combed through her hair. The whole time little Kitkat was perfect, happy as a clam. Aliyeh figured she had to be someone’s kitten, she was so domesticated and friendly. It is a small town, just a bit over 1000 people, the highest numbered street is 12th street. So she went around to neighbors door by door, and put up some flyers, but no one knew Kitkat. It’s been about three weeks, and people spread the word. Pretty clear, Kitkat is (was) a stray.

Aliyeh is going to keep Kitkat. She has a young son, and he and Kitkat get along great! But Aliyeh is in school, lives on her own, and works part-time as a receptionist. She doesn’t have the money to get Kitkat checked out, vaccinated, get her on some good flea and tick preventative (this is Louisiana, pets have to have this), all the stuff a new kitten needs.

The good news it is a small town in the South. There is a local vet, Jennings Animal Hospital, in the next town over, and they charge small town prices. For a few hundred dollars Kitkat can get checked up, vaccinated and protected from ticks. Oh, and throw in a spay so we don’t get any more stray kittens! A little does a lot of good setting this little stray up for life, so please consider a donation to Kitkat right now, and we’ll email an update once she’s all sorted out at the vet!
