About the Campaign

Kimmie is a 10-year-old Terrier and Pitbull mix with two lumps that need veterinary care. Christina recently noticed a large lump on Kimmie’s backside and a smaller one on her front right leg. The vet is concerned enough, especially because of the location, that removal is recommended.

Kimmie has not been acting very different, which is why the lumps were so alarming when Christina found them. She first noticed them a couple of weeks ago, when she was already taking her other dog, Bear, to the vet for a limp and decided to have Kimmie checked at the same time. Now the question is whether to test the masses first or move straight to removal, depending on what Christina can afford.

Kimmie has been with Christina since she was just 6 months old. Christina adopted her from the Animal Welfare League in Florida about 10 years ago, when she was facing months alone while her fiancé at the time was away at boot camp. She went to the shelter looking for a dog and came home with Kimmie. They bonded immediately, and Kimmie has been her companion ever since.

Christina applied for CareCredit but was declined. She works as a server in Palmdale, and summer is the slow season, leaving her with much less income than usual. Her fiancé, Eric, works as a mechanic after a welding contract ended, and they are trying to keep up with rent, bills, and everyday expenses after moving from Florida to California.

Kimmie is a senior dog, but she is still loved, active, and has a treatable problem if the lumps can be addressed now. Donations will help cover her exam, mass removals, testing or biopsy if needed, anesthesia, medications, and follow-up care. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian.
