Surgery to Remove a Growing Mass

Keona has been a source of comfort and support for Aide’s family since the day they brought her home. She was adopted just two days after Aide lost her father, and in the years since, Keona has become more than just a pet! This Shar-Pei/Pittie mix is a companion, a protector, and an emotional support dog for Aide’s daughter, Alondra.

A few years ago, Aide noticed a mass on Keona’s left hip area. At the time, they were told it was nothing to worry about, but as Keona has aged, the mass has grown larger. Now, it’s beginning to slow her down, and their vet has advised that it’s time for surgery to remove it before it starts affecting her mobility. Unfortunately, the cost of surgery is beyond what Aide can manage right now.

She’s a single mom raising three daughters—one of whom, Victoria, has epilepsy and requires ongoing medical care. Aide works remotely for a charter school’s special education department. With medical bills for her young daughter, and everything else piling up, there is simply no way to cover Keona’s surgery without help.

Keona has been there for Aide’s family through everything, and now she needs help in return.
