She’s a singer!

But Katie is in pain, and needs your help!

Katie has two ectopic ureters…. that means when pee leaves her kidneys it does not enter her bladder! The tubes that go into the bladder don’t work, and instead the pee leaks into her body and then out. This is very painful for her, and means she leaks pee all the time.

The good news is surgery can fix this! The better news is that the rescue that saved her, Luna Siberian Rescue, has already paid a substantial portion of her expensive surgery (see bills below)!!!

Katie is just one year-old, and is an otherwise healthy girl. She has loads of personality as you can see in the video below, and she was named Katie Perry due to her, somewhat hilarious, singing, especially when she has to go to the vet!!! She can have a normal and full life, she just needs this surgery which has an excellent success rate. The rescue has pulled out all the stops, taking her to some of the best vet hospitals in the country, and is really working to get her help!

Here are some more details about what is going on with her: “She needs to have surgery on both ureters to reattach them and put them into the bladder so she can urinate like a normal dog. Her current status with constant urine burns and pain is something that needs to be corrected . Simply wearing diapers does not help, as she has continuous flow that excoriates her badly. She has chronic urinary tract infections , and this greatly affects her quality of life . She is amazing and deserves a future as a normal dog. The surgical outcome will be a functional bladder with possibly some minor insignificant leaking. Meaning she will be able to be on the bed , couch etc. without soiling it, and will be able to be adopted and finally get that forever home we promised her.”
