About the Campaign

Help Kash Walk Without Pain

Urgent Spinal Surgery Needed

Kash has known struggle from the very start. Nearly two years ago, Sherri found him at the Guilford County Animal Shelter in North Carolina—a tiny, 12-pound grey brindle puppy with wobbly back legs. He had been found on the side of the road, starving, and barely able to move. At the time, Sherri thought his condition was due to malnutrition, but something about him touched her heart. She told herself if he was still there in a few days, she’d bring him home. Kash was still waiting.

Now, at nearly two years old, Kash’s mobility issues have only become more complex. He was first diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia, but a second opinion revealed the real issue—he has a C2/C3 spinal cord compression that severely affects his ability to move. He also has immature cataracts, one eye smaller than the other, and a misaligned pelvis that makes daily life a challenge. Kash can’t go up stairs and has to be carried.

Sherri has done everything in her power to help him. She’s sought opinions from multiple specialists, paid for an MRI, consulted an eye doctor, and even tried chiropractic care. One veterinary hospital was far too expensive. Another neurologist had little experience with Kash’s kind of surgery. But after nearly two years of searching, Sherri has finally found a trusted specialist who is confident he can help Kash. This surgery is Kash’s best chance at a pain-free life.

Sherri is a single mother, already balancing financial responsibilities for her disabled daughter. She’s renting a house but may have to move soon if her landlord sells. Every bit of savings she had went into Kash’s medical care, and while she has pet insurance, Kash’s diagnoses came too soon—meaning none of his treatments are covered.

Now, she needs help raising the funds for Kash’s spinal surgery. He’s full of life, love, and determination, but without this procedure, his condition will only get worse. Every donation goes directly to his surgery and care, giving him the mobility and relief he’s never had. Vet estimate below for spinal surgery, click to enlarge:
