About the Campaign

Meet Itachi

Itachi is a very loving, friendly, and outgoing pup. He is 1.5 years old. He has taken classes at Petsmart and goes to the dog park frequently. He is an amazing dog and we love him so much. He wants to be friends with everyone.

The first incident

Unfortunately, on June 18th around 11pm I heard my dog fall over. He was behind the couch which is where he lays a lot as that is his favorite spot. I turned around when I heard him fall over and to my surprise my 1.5 year old dog was on the floor having a seizure. He has never had a seizure before and he has never had any health issues either. We immediately rushed him to the emergency vet. They were very helpful and checked his vitals and his gums to make sure he was getting oxygen still. His gums looked fine and he seemed to be doing fine. They told us they could do the bloodwork but their testing is not going to check as much as his vets offices tests would. Itachi was sent home that night. I stayed up and watched him the entire night to make sure he was ok. He was fine that night.

We took him to his vet on June 19th and we took him around noonish. He was seen and we did the blood testing at his vet. We were told that he could go home and the results would be in within the hour. As we were at home waiting for the results to come in, Itachi had ANOTHER SEIZURE. At this point there is no explanation as to what is happening to our handsome boy. He was hospitalized for about 3 hours as the vet said his toxin levels are at a 1.4 (which are the highest they should ever be at). He was given fluids and was monitored for another seizure. He was also given a shot of medicine that will help to stop the seizures. He was given medicine to be given at home to stop seizures as well. The medicine seems to be working, however, if it is the wrong dosage it could be harmful to our pup. We have spent over $350 on our puppy to help him and hopefully get answers soon. He goes back to the vet in 2 weeks to be tested to make sure the medicine is not harming him in anyway and make sure it is the correct dosage. We will hopefully be able to lower the dosage but if we do that the seizures may start happening again. Unfortunately we do have to wait 3 weeks until Itachi will get to be blood tested to see if these toxin levels have decreased.

These seizures could be happening because he was poisoned or he might have kidney failure or he may be epileptic. Unfortunately, we will not know what is happening with our handsome baby boy for another few weeks. We will absolutely do whatever we need to to make sure our boy is being seen and to make sure we are doing all we can to make sure he is being helped. He is being seen at Samaritan Animal Hospital in Apple Valley. If anyone would like to donate to help to cover some of his costs it would be appreciated. Anything is appreciated. We just want our baby to be healthy and to be back to his normal fun loving outgoing self.  I know for a fact, he will need bloodwork done again in three weeks.

Toni, Itachi’s mom has exhausted all of their available resources at this point. They opened a care credit to pay for the initial vet bills and have no more credit. Itachi was given to Toni as a puppy from a friend dog that had a liter.

Have you looked into CBD to help with his ailments? It works really good, we give it to our dog for joint pain, but there is a whole list of what CBD helps with animals.

Why would I give my dog CBD oil when I don’t even know what’s wrong with him yet? People always want to act like they are a vet and try to recommend stuff when they should just keep to themselves. Wasn’t asking for advice was asking for help financially.
