Hunter, a 10-year-old Pomeranian, has been part of Rose’s life for the past decade. Originally her daughter’s dog, Hunter came to live with Rose in 2014 when her daughter moved somewhere that didn’t allow pets. Since then, he’s been her loyal companion.

At a vet checkup on January 5th, the vet discovered a concerning mass near Hunter’s testicles. Because only one testicle dropped, the vet isn’t sure if the mass is a retained testicle or a tumor—but either way, it needs to be removed to prevent further health complications.

Rose lives on a fixed income of just $660 a month from her ex-husband’s retirement. With back problems, sciatica, and scoliosis, her ability to work is limited, and affording Hunter’s surgery on her own isn’t possible.
