About the Campaign

Back Leg Is Dragging.

She Needs Veterinary Care to Find Out Why.

Huera, a 2-year-old pit bull, is struggling to use her left back leg. At times it drags, and she can’t put weight on her rear foot. She needs a veterinary exam and diagnostics to figure out what’s wrong—and what it will take to help her walk comfortably again.

Carlos first came across Huera on Thanksgiving near his job in Glendale. She looked like she’d been cared for—she had a pink collar—but she was limping. When he saw her still hurt a few days later, he couldn’t leave her there.

Security in the area told him someone had driven by and dumped her on the street near the Burbank airport. Huera was alone, injured, and clearly looking for help.

Carlos took her in and started doing what he could right away. He got her a rabies shot and registered her where he lives. Huera had no chip and no name—just that pink collar and a sweet, well-mannered personality. She listens, behaves well, and has shown she can be calm around a cat.

Carlos tried to find Huera a home three different times, but each placement fell through because people couldn’t handle her injuries. One vet even suggested euthanasia or the pound. Carlos refused. He’s committed to her, and he says she’s family now.

Huera is also good with Carlos’ kids, and she’s become part of their home. But Carlos works general construction and can’t afford a large medical bill all at once. He and his partner, Nancy, are raising five kids, with three living at home—Alexis (15), Darla (10), and Issiah (7). They want to do right by Huera, they just need help to get her the care she deserves.

Donations will help cover Huera’s veterinary exam and any recommended diagnostics (such as X-rays) so the vet can identify the cause of her pain and create a treatment plan. The goal is simple: help Huera walk without dragging her leg, and keep her safe, comfortable, and with the family who chose her. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian.

I know she will be fine, You did a really great thing by giving her a wonderful home. She’s a beautiful dog. Rescue dogs are the best. God bless you for helping her. It’s a shame people are so evil with what they do to their dogs.
