About the Campaign

Little Howl’s story is pretty simple:

He has a birth defect in his heart.

Surgery will fix it.

With surgery he will have a normal life, as he has no permanent heart damage yet.

Without surgery, he will die of heart failure within a few months.

His mom Jennifer got him to be her baby. She was assured he was healthy, but a few weeks after having him at home she noticed how he almost never barked, but also seemed to cough more than you would think is normal.

Coughing in dogs can often indicate a heart issue.

She took him to the vet to get checked out, and the vet immediately suspected PDA, Patent Ductus Arteriosus, a condition you can read about HERE. The good news is that tests show Howl has no permanent heart damage yet, and the doctor believes if he can get surgery in the next few months, Howl will develop normally and have a normal life.

Jennifer has applied for Care Credit, but was declined. She started a GoFundMe before she found us, but it has only raised about $150. Jennifer has already spent about $1000 getting Howl diagnosed.

All donations here are only for Howl and will only be paid to the veterinarian for his heart procedure! We never pay donations to the owner. You can donate in confidence that your donation is going to Howl!

A bad heart that can be fixed should be fixed.
