About the Campaign

Help Hex Recover from a Severe Dog Attack

Hex, a sweet 3-year-old cat, has been part of James and Gianna’s family for two years. Originally, they went to adopt another kitten, Vex, but when they saw how sad she was alone, they couldn’t leave without Hex. The two have been inseparable ever since.

Recently, Hex was attacked by the family’s pit bull while resting in the living room. James acted fast, prying the dog’s jaws open with his hands to free her. But the damage was already done—Hex was bleeding from her eye and in shock. They rushed her to the vet, where they were told she would need to have her eye removed. Further testing revealed a possible jaw fracture, multiple broken teeth, and swelling that makes eating difficult.

Hex still needs a CT scan to determine if her jaw is fractured or dislocated before moving forward with surgery. The scan alone is estimated at $2,500, and James and Gianna are already struggling with past vet bills. James works Uber, Lyft, and any job he can find, while Gianna supports the family as an assistant manager at Claire’s—all while raising their 3-year-old daughter.

Despite her injuries, Hex is fighting to recover, and they’re doing everything they can to help her heal. With your support, she can get the surgery she needs to eat comfortably again. Donations will go directly to her medical care. Thank you for helping Hex and the family who loves her.

Is it too late to donate? What happened to the cat?
