About the Campaign
Goatee had a cancerous tumor removed
But just after surgery there is a growth back
Goatee is an amazing and sweet rescue cat, and his owner is going through a very frustrating time with the vet that did his surgery. To make a long story short: Just after surgery to remove cancerous tumors, the vet had Goatee come back and stay for some days. Then, when a growth reappeared right where the surgery had been done, they wanted to charge again to biopsy it.
Goatee’s owner had enough, and took him to an oncologist, a cancer specialist. He has spent a lot of money on this whole situation, and is out of work due to COVID, in Florida, a state very impacted by the the virus.
Donors paid for Goatee’s biopsy!
We did a campaign for Goatee to get this biopsy, and thanks to a generous donor that was completed. Goatee does have cancer in the tumor, and Andrew (his owner) has now got him to a cancer specialist that he trusts.
What Goatee needs now
The specialist wants to treat Goatee with a fairly new drug, Toceranib, marketed as Palladia. The doctor is positive on Goatee’s chances, but of course treatment is urgent and not cheap. The initial treatment is about $500, and then it is about $400 for each additional. Goatee will start with two treatments and proceed from there as necessary.
We have set this fundraiser for $1350 for now, for 3 treatments total. Andrew is a good and dedicated owner who is committed to caring for Goatee has he will need during this treatment. This little kitty has a good home, he has a good doctor, and he has a good plan… he just doesn’t have the money. That’s where we all come in!
All donations are only for Goatee, and only paid to the vet for his cancer treatments. Donate in confidence, and your donation is tax deductible. Thank you!!
