About the Campaign
Fluffy is a 14-year-old male Shih Tzu who needs urgent veterinary care for a broken jaw. A short time ago, he slipped out the door and ran down the street. Vanessa searched for him in the dark and finally spotted him near the end of a road by a wash. But when she got out to pick him up, Fluffy seemed scared or confused, and he ran into the wash and wooded area.
Vanessa was terrified a coyote might get him. She stayed out searching through the night, then kept canvassing the area the next day and the next. Fluffy had never run off in 14 years, so this was completely out of character. For four days, his family did not know where he was or whether he was safe.
Then Fluffy finally turned up at the San Bernardino County shelter. Someone had found him near a school and called him in as an injured dog. Vanessa picked him up right away. He was exhausted, drowsy, and not himself, so she took him to the vet as soon as she could. The vet said his jaw is broken and needs treatment.

Fluffy has been with Vanessa’s family since he was a newborn. A family member had puppies, and when Vanessa’s mom went to see them, Fluffy was the one little puppy who walked right up to her and would not leave her side. It felt like he chose her, and he has been family ever since.
The cost is the obstacle, especially after a devastating loss. Vanessa’s father passed away just a few months ago at only 48 years old, likely from a heart attack while working an event as a chef. The family lost his income and also spent heavily on funeral costs. He was healthy, and his death was unexpected. Now, just as they are trying to recover from that loss, Fluffy has come home injured and needs help.
Donations will help cover Fluffy’s exam, X-rays, jaw treatment or surgery, pain medication, antibiotics, and follow-up care so this senior dog can heal after surviving four days lost and injured. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian. Estimate below, click to enlarge:

Poor Fluffy! I had a pup named Fluffy when I was a kid. I was touched by the patience with which he was hand fed. His recovery is super important and needs to happen.

Please help fluffy wish I could give more thank you for helping this great cute little dog i used have a shih tzu he passed away he was sweetest thing so nice and friendly always happy to see you you had to hug him or he wouldn’t stop barking his name was Gucci I miss him with all my heart everyone loved him he was such a sweet dog.
