About the Campaign

A small cancer tumor

on his belly area.

Flex is a handsome boy, with a mast cell tumor that has been caught early, and needs to be removed.

Eight years ago his owner Alexandra went to her local animal shelter to adopt a cat, and came home with a big ol’ pittbull! It happens… She just had an instant bond when she met Flex, and had to take him home.

He’s a very good boy and has always been healthy. He still is, super active and playful. Last year he had a little bump in this same area. Alexandra took him to the vet, doctor thought it was nothing. It went away. All seemed well. But this September, exactly a year later, it came back. Not big, but not normal.

This time the doctor did an aspiration, a small sample with a needle, and determined it is a mast cell tumor, a very common type of cancer in dogs. The doctor is pretty confident that everything will be fine if they just remove it quickly, it has been caught early and appears to not have spread. Alexandra spent about $500 already on x-rays and the testing, and the x-rays show no signs of cancer anywhere else.

The procedure is $1285, and Alexandra has more than 1/2 of that from a fundraiser (see HERE) and a little savings. She is working two jobs, but money is tight due to a recent car accident and some other issues, and time is of the essence with these mast cell tumors. The doctor is ready to get Flex in next week, and he is just $500 short right now! Estimate is below, click to enlarge:
