About the Campaign
Nine Abandoned Kittens
After midnight one cold day last week, a man stepped out on his porch in the dark to smoke a cigarette. He nearly fell over a small styrofoam cooler someone had left in front of his door.
It’s a small town, Sweet Home, in Oregon, and the night’s are quiet. He had not expected this. The cooler was taped shut but heavy something was inside. The man pulled off the tape, and inside were four little kittens.
Four kittens were dumped in a taped up styrofoam box. Another litter of five (in the video above) were rescued from someone about to dump them in the woods.
All nine are now with “Faith’s Furry Rescue” in the small town of Sweet Home, Oregon. There is no animal shelter in town, but there are stray cats. In fact, Faith is sort of known locally as the cat rescuer, and the kittens in the styrofoam container were left at a home just a few houses from Faith’s, probably mistakenly thinking it was her house.
The four from the styrofoam cooler are just 7 weeks old, able to eat food but still wanting a mother cat, they have been adopted by Penny, another rescue. Faith took her and her kittens in months ago, the kittens went to SafeHaven in Eugene, Oregon but Faith kept Penny as she was deemed feral at the time, though she has now warmed up to people and is a domestic cat. Penny and the kittens are in the top (featured) picture of this fundraiser.
All nine kittens are adoptable, but with no animal control and no services in town, it is on Faith to get them properly vetted before adoption. Also, one of the kittens appears to have a hernia. This fundraiser is for all nine, three girls and six boys, to get spayed/neutered, FiV tested, all their shots and vaccines, and to get the little girl’s hernia fixed. Then Faith can find them good homes.
Donations are paid directly to the local vet Sweet Home Veterinary Clinic, which charges a flat $257 per boy and $357 per girl, plus the cost of hernia repair. Your donation helps get these kittens set up for life, and starts them on their journey to a great forever home!

All cats deserve a good life. But there are so many already. Spay and neutere is important.
