About the Campaign

He’s lost 30% of his weight in a few months!

Dusty was a little kitty with ringworm at the animal shelter six years ago, when Bryn adopted him. She volunteers at the shelter and was treating the cats that come in with ring worm when she met Dusty, and decided she would give him a home!

He has been a healthy kitty since then, and grew up to be a pretty big boy of about 16 pounds! He is a furry boy with long hair, as you can see in the pictures, so Bryn didn’t notice his weight loss right away. But in late December when petting him, he seemed to be thinner and boney.

Dusty is eating and drinking fine, and seemed otherwise just normal, but as the weeks went on, he lost more weight. Bryn talked to some vets and people at the shelter, and they think it might be a thyroid issue, or maybe diabetes. It is hard to tell, because other than the weight loss, he doesn’t seem to have any outward, obvious symptoms. But he is now only 11lbs, which is a loss of five pounds in a short time!

Dusty and his bff Winston, also a rescue from the shelter

Bryn is disabled, on a small income and does not qualify for Care Credit. The doctor estimates it will be about $1000, maybe a bit more to do all the tests Dusty needs. He’ll need a thyroid test, and blood test and x-rays. He may need a urine test and some other test too. Let’s get this good kitty the medical care he needs, and back to his healthier weight!

All donations are for Dusty, and only paid to the vet for his treatment.
