Oh Dany Girl,

your teeth are hurting!

Dany is a good kitty, getting a little older now, she was adopted as a kitten from the Burbank animal shelter over 10 years ago. Her owner Ben has had her ever since through multiple moves, apartments, jobs and life. And all of that time Dany has been a healthy cat with regular check ups.

So it was a bit of a surprise and worry when Dany stopped eating a few months ago. Just would not touch her food. A visit to his regular vet resulted in a referral to another and Dany was diagnosed with severe gum disease, gingivitis.

Cats don’t like you to touch their mouth, and Dany is no exception, but the doctor was able to show Ben bloody gums and some loose teeth, as well as one cracked tooth:

Dany needs dental surgery. She is in pain. Now she has to eat only the softest food, and she still doesn’t eat normally. She hides more, and she just won’t let anyone near her teeth. Ben is a writer’s assistant, and the strike in Hollywood has left him unemployed, and also with out unemployment insurance. He is able to pay some towards Dany’s surgery, but does not have the funds to cover the full amount.

All donations are specifically for Dany, only her, and are paid directly to the veterinarian. If Dany does not get the surgery, donations are refunded. If you would like to help Dany get out of dental pain, and back to a happy, pain-free life, please make a donation to her surgery here.
