About the Campaign

Danger is a 5-month-old female Belgian Malinois puppy who needs veterinary care for a painful right leg injury. Since being rescued, she has been tender on that leg, hops gently when she walks, and will softly mouth or nibble to stop anyone from touching the sore area. She needs an exam, X-rays, pain control, and whatever treatment the vet recommends.

Marta found Danger in June in a church parking lot. Marta was stopped at a red light when she saw three grown men kicking the puppy out of the church service and down the stairs. Marta ran the red light, and her friend jumped out of the car to get her. Danger came right to them, as if she had been waiting for someone safe.

Marta took her in immediately. Danger had nothing: no supplies, no setup, no safe place to go. Marta already has a 17-year-old Pomeranian named Teddy Bear, plus several reptiles, but she could not leave a puppy behind after seeing her abused. She has had to buy the basic equipment needed for a growing puppy while also trying to figure out what is wrong with Danger’s leg.

Marta is a veterinary technician, so she knows how to care for Danger and understands that this injury should not be ignored. But she is currently out of work because of her own injury and is waiting for disability payments to begin. She is a single mother with two sons, Matthew, 17, and Anthony, 16, and right now she is barely covering bills.

Danger is safe now, but she still needs medical care to know whether her leg is bruised, sprained, fractured, or injured in another way. Donations will help cover her veterinary exam, X-rays, pain medication, and related treatment so this young puppy can heal and start her new life without pain. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian.
