About the Campaign

Saved from the Shelter!

But this older boy has bad teeth.

Copper was headed to the animal shelter. A lady on the Nextdoor app that they were taking him to the animal shelter because he was annoying them by peeing in the house, unless someone wanted him.

Kiley, who is just 20 herself, saw the post and it reminded her of Loki, her dog she got when she was 10 years-old that had passed away in May of 2024. Kiley contacted the lady, and met her in a public place where the woman just handed over Copper and left!

Fortunately Copper warmed up to Kiley right away, maybe he could tell it was a much better situation! She took him to the vet and he had worms (Giardia), which they cleared up with medication. Other than that he was healthy except for severe dental disease. Bad teeth, gum infection. This was a VCA and they gave Kiley an estimate of over $4000 for the dental surgery, but she contacted Affordable Animal Clinic in Anaheim, and they gave her an estimate over the phone of about $1500.

Kiley is a full-time student at CalPoly in Pomona, studying animal health science, and works part-time at Lowe’s as a cashier. Getting the money together for this surgery, even at the lower rate, is beyond her means, and she was not approved for CareCredit. All donations here are for Copper, and paid directly to the vet when he gets his dental work!

I adore animals. My heart aches, I sob almost daily with how many animals, in the states and around the world, that suffer from starvation, abuse, murder, etc. While my donation is small, I pray Kiley can get the help he needs desperately.

I might also suggest the app ScratchPay loans. On iPhone the app opens under Scratch Plans but opens as ScratchPay. We’ve used them in the past and our son has a loan with them now. ScratchPay really saved us heartache with our Pit Terrier Finnegan.

    I hope this helps.

Being a pet parent is a big responsibility and we want the best for them. Unexpected issues can happen to our fur babies and not all pet insurance is accepted by all vets. Not everyone is rich. That’s why I’m donating.

I’m so glad you took this little guy home. I pray he’s a good boy for you. May your relationship with him exceed all your expectations. God bless you and him with a wonderful life together. I donated because the small ants will add up for you to get his dental surgery.

Because she took in a needy dog rather than let it go to the shelter. I love animals but dogs are my weak spot! This dog is a cutie too.
