About the Campaign

EMERGENCY UPDATE:
Monday (August 21), after coming home from the vet, Cooper started hyperventilating, and had to be rushed to the ER. After several rounds of oxygen and diuretics, she has improved by 25%, but she's still in the ICU receiving oxygen, and the hospital won’t continue to the next steps of care unless they receive payment. So even the smallest amount will help. See ER bill below.

Cooper has a dry cough,

it is getting worse, and is sometimes scary

Cooper’s owner (Hyunjin) got her as a pup of about 5 months, and now Cooper is 15 years-old, but still a very active and happy dog! Friends had adopted two dogs, one being Cooper, and had decided two was too many, so Hyunjin took Cooper.

Cooper has been a very good girl all these years, and had no major heart problems. A few years ago the doctor detected a slight heart murmur, but that’s been about it. Until early July. Cooper started coughing, a dry little cough. It would come and go, but in the last weeks has gotten much worse (you can play the video above to see).

Hyunjin is a writer in Los Angeles, and is out of work due to the writer’s strike. Also, she was hit and run by a car while walking some years ago, and severely injured. Her recovery took a long time and cost all her savings. All that time Cooper was her constant companion, and other than when she was in the hospital, Cooper has slept in the bed with her all these 15 years.

Cooper has not had a full check up in two years, though she did get updated shots in January of this year. The vet Cooper regularly goes to has a full senior check up package, including x-rays, that is $950… but we are working to get Cooper to a specialist we know because of the cough.

She is a very happy and active dog, and Cooper may have an easily correctable condition! All donations are held by Free Animal Doctor and will only be paid to the veterinarian when she is treated. Let’s help Cooper stop this cough before it gets even worse, thank you!
