About the Campaign

Choxie the Doxie!

She was surrendered along with her sister Bitsy in 2015, and then adopted together with her sister from
Dachshund Rescue of Los Angeles!

Choxie and Bitsy were adopted by Gabrielle, keeping them together, and they have been great a Dachshund pair since then. But about a year ago Choxie started showing some of the signs of Cushing’s Syndrome and has gone through a series of tests.

Her most recent test indicated Cushing’s but not 100%, and there is the possibility of her symptoms either being another problem, or a combination with Cushing’s, so the veterinarian wants to do a ultrasound with a specialist before starting Cushing’s treatment.

Financial Situation:

Her mom Gabrielle is a disabled, retired teacher on Social Security Disability which only provides a limited fixed income. Right now Choxie needs about $1000 in tests and some medications, and with the money she has already spent Gabrielle is having trouble affording it.

Recent Bills/Estimates:

We think this is a deserving case as Gabrielle is making sure the care Choxie is getting is thorough and correct, and her financial situation is entirely understandable. All donations done here are held by us and only paid directly to the vet and only for Choxie’s treatments!

Sorry you’re going through this. Our dog just had an ultrasound to check out a mass, which turned out to be aggressive cancer. Wishing you and Choxie all the best
