About the Campaign

This is Chou Chou

She has a painful dental infection that is now bleeding, and needs surgery to correct it and remove some teeth.

Chou Chou is 16 years old, and her owner Cynthia has had her since Chou Chou was a puppy. When Chou Chou was 7 years old she was diagnosed with SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome), a condition where dogs suddenly go blind. It is not known what causes this, and there is no treatment. But Chou Chou has gotten along great as a blind dog for many many years, and lives a happy life with Cynthia and her other dog Hugo!

Financial situation

Cynthia has recently run into financial difficulties. Diagnosed with cancer in 2016, she spent three years fighting it, with multiple surgeries. She is cancer free now, but has a number of health difficulties from her treatment. Cynthia had been doing some work from home, with her health condition she cannot go out during COVID as she is at high risk, but it has been to get anything full-time.

Cynthia has two dogs, her other dog is Hugo and also has a fundraiser here. Hugo had to have eye surgery last year, and with her health and job issues that was the last of her available money. All donations here are for Chou Chou and Hugo and will only be paid directly to the vet when surgery is performed! At Free Animal Doctor your donation always is paid only to the vet! Can you help Chou Chou today?

I have a senior kitty who is in heart failure and I know how difficult it is to pay for treatment. People sometimes don’t understand giving senior animals medical care, but you want your animals to be happy and pain-free in their elder years. And you never know how long animals will live. My cat was given six months and it is two years later and he is still going strong. I hope Chou Chou can get her dental work and will live many more years pain free.
