About the Campaign

Paralyzed suddenly!

He is only 6 years old, and the doctor recommends surgery.

It must be done quickly, as damage becomes permanent with time.

Chisholm was a reject from a breeder. He was born deaf, and has tail that curls to tightly, so he couldn’t be a show dog. Robin adopted him instead, and he has been a very good boy ever since!

Chisholm puppy:

On Tuesday (April 2nd) he was acting a little strange, and seemed to be shaking. A trip to the vet showed he was constipated, and an x-ray did reveal a calcified disc in Chisholm’s spine, that could be a problem… but the doctor didn’t think it was anything to worry about right now.

At home Chisholm pooped and was doing better, but on Thursday, while walking outside he suddenly half collapsed in the rear, dragging one leg. He came in the house, and then the other rear leg also started dragging. He looked at Robin confused, and whimpered. Well of course she took him to the vet right away!

Patriotic Chisholm (and friend)!

The first exam went well, and the doctor sent Chisholm home with steroids and pain medication. But after his condition changed so drastically, they did a consultation with other doctors and reviewed his x-rays. Unfortunately, the diagnosis changed. Chisholm’s disc has pushed into the spinal cord and is causing total paralysis of his back legs. He cannot stand up nor walk, as you can see in the video above. He needs surgery, and fortunately his doctor is a well-known and highly respected surgeon.

Robin is retired and lives only on Social Security, and her husband has kidney failure and is hospitalized. She has managed to pay for Chisholm so far, but the surgery it not within her means, and it is urgent! The longer the disc is pushing on the nerve the more permanent the nerve damage becomes.

All donations are only for Chisholm and are paid directly to his vet for spinal surgery. Donate in confidence that you are helping him get his back surgery right away!

I am donating because Bandit’s Bandaid has help me in the past with my pets. I know what it is like to have the feeling of strangers coming together for the love of someone else’s pet. Like the saying goes about it taking a village to raise a child, the same goes for pet care as well.

Thoughts and prayers for you and Chisholm to come through his surgery with an excellent outcome. Luckily I have not needed any assistance with medical bills for my Corgis and hopefully never will. We do and have done fundraising for a few different Corgi Aid foundations.
