About the Campaign
Born on the 4th of July!
All American boy Chase is a was born last July, just a little over a year old, he lives in central Mississippi. It’s a rural area, and grandama live just down the road, and Chase runs over there and plays with her dog. That’s what happened, he ran out in the road and got hit by a car.
Chase broke both his front legs. There are two bones in the forearm, and he broke both bones, in both arms. They will not heal with a cast because there is not stability. If only one bone was broken, a cast would probably work, but with both broken, the larger bone needs to be held stable with a plate, and then they will heal.
Ricky Evans, Chase’s owner got him to Mississippi State University’s emergency vet clinic right away, and Chase is there now. Both arms are in a cast, but he needs the surgery. We talked with the doctor, and he says he should have the surgery within about a week, no later.
The Evan’s family has six children, and mom was active duty Army, now in the reserves. Ricky is in diesel mechanic school, and drives a truck locally. They did get a small amount of credit approved, and are asking family to help but Chase is a pricey case.
The Evans Children:
Even in central Mississippi orthopedic surgery is expensive, especially when it is both legs, not just one. We have discussed this case directly with Chase’s surgeon and the Evans family, and your donation to Chase will be paid directly to the vet to get this young dog is life back! Yeah, it’s good he is at the vet, but I feel bad for him and took a personal interest in this case. Also the surgeon called me directly and discussed it, because he wants to see the dog get surgery as well.
