About the Campaign
Charlie is much happier now,
but he needs his teeth fixed!
This little guy lived for years with a bad man, a man who got worse over the years. His neighbor Evie is a senior citizen, and she would see the man walking Charlie sometimes. Charlie was always so happy to greet her and her dogs, and seemed sad to be pulled away.
The man was know to be a criminal, and in later years became more violent, with a drug addiction. Police were often at his place, there were parties, roommates and fights quite often. One day Evie saw the man punching Charlie even, but she was afraid to approach him as he could be very aggressive. A short time after seeing that she came across him and Charlie, and he was in a more stable mood. He told her he was going to get rid of Charlie because he was pooping all over his place, and Evie said she would take him. The man handed her the leash and said “He’s yours.” That was Mother’s Day last year, 2023.
Evie says Charlie was timid, but happy right away. He smelled like cigarette smoke, even after a bath. It took a few baths to get that smell out it was so bad. She also noticed some blood in his pee. The vet gave him antibiotics, saying it seemed to be a long term, untreated urinary infection but they also tested for cancer. Fortunately the antibiotics fixed Charlie up, and the cancer test came back negative.
His teeth were bad from the day she took him in, but Evie is 73 on a fixed income. She dealt with what she could when she could. The blood in the pee was obviously more urgent, and he needed vaccines and flea meds and all the stuff a neglected dog needs.
Now his teeth seem to be getting really bad though. His breath is worse, and he eats very gingerly now, not with the speed he used to. Charlie will sometimes paw his mouth and whipper. Look, his teeth are bad, he almost certainly has a gum infection, and he has to have dental surgery to fix it up. Little guy is 11 years old and probably never had a vet look at his teeth until Evie.
All donations here are for Charlie only, paid only to the vet. The estimate for his dental is below, please click to enlarge:

He has been through so much, and Evie has done everything she can. They deserve a little help.
