About the Campaign

The pressure is too much,

and the eye must be removed.

Charity is 10 years-old. She was at the Fresno Humane Society, not getting any interest in adoption or rescue. Puppies are starting to come into the shelters now, and they are getting full. At the same time, people that are adopting are choosing the puppies. Given this and her medical condition the shelter was considering putting her to sleep.

At the shelter:

The rescue Soul2Soul was there to pick up another dog, and when they were informed of Charity they took her as well. She is now in a foster home in Oregon, and has been to the vet. Her right eye is blind from untreated glaucoma. The pressure is obviously painful, and she is behaving as an injured dog. Not active and seemingly depressed. The doctor wants to remove the eye at the next surgery date, which is April 10th.

Her other eye is working, though it may have some glaucoma, they are going to treat that with medication and see how it goes, so this surgery should be all that is needed (some dental work at the same time too) and then Charity will be a healthy, one-eyed senior that can be adopted!

All donations are specifically for Charity, to get her the surgery she needs. And donations are paid to the veterinarian when the procedure is performed. A copy of the estimate is below, please click/tap to enlarge:

Seniors are the best and having bad eyes is just the worst. I have two Yorkies right now with eye ulcers it’s very painful. I hope your surgery happens on the 10th.
