About the Campaign
Buddy was adopted by Tiffany and her family in the beginning of March. Shortly after adopting him from the city she took him to the vet. She had all his shot given and he was tested for heartworms. Unfortunately, two test came back positive. If you check out the video Tiffany is explaining that his heartworms are mature and causing coughing spells and heart murmurs.
The process of eliminating the worms
The first step in treating the worms is a month of antibiotics, he finished this about two weeks ago. He now has to wait about a month before he has his first injection. After the first injection Buddy will be kenneled for 10-12 weeks. If Buddy gets too excited the injections could cause complications, the pieces of worm can cause blockage in his body. After the first injections you wait 30 days and then there is the second injection. During the injections Buddy will be sedated due to the painful injections of the medicine.
The vet estimate for the two shots:
All donations are tax deductible. Free Animal Doctor pays the money raised directly to Buddy's vet.
