About the Campaign
Life-Saving Mastectomy Surgery.
Brandy, a gentle 9-year-old Cocker Spaniel mix, wandered into Michelle’s yard four years ago and never left. With no chip and no one coming forward to claim her, Michelle decided to give Brandy a safe and loving home—just as she’s done for other pets in need, including her 14-year-old dog Peaches and several feral cats she feeds daily.
A few months ago, Michelle noticed drooping masses on Brandy’s stomach. Surgery in July removed the tumors, but heartbreakingly, they’ve already come back. This time, the vet recommends a full mastectomy to stop the tumors from returning again. Without it, removing the new growths alone would only be a temporary fix.
The cost of the mastectomy is $5,000—money Michelle doesn’t have after paying for the first surgery. Living alone on Social Security Disability after years of working at Verizon Frontier, she’s out of Care Credit and other options.
Brandy still has so much life and love ahead of her. With this surgery, she can move past this painful cycle of tumors! All donations will go directly to the veterinarian for Brandy’s surgery. Doctor’s note and estimate below, click to enlarge:
