About the Campaign

Heart good! Teeth? Terrible.

Bradley, a 12-year-old Terrier and Poodle mix, is finally cleared for the dental surgery he’s long needed. He suffers from stage 3 dental disease and painful eye inflammation, but thanks to a recent echocardiogram at Western University, he’s been cleared for anesthesia and can now safely move forward with treatment.

As you can see in the video above, his teeth are in really bad shape and infected as well. This kind of dental issue can lead to heart problems, and probably is part of his heart issue currently. We have see dogs with heart problems actually improve once their teeth are taken care of properly.

Bradley’s eyes have been another challenge. He’s on three medications for inflammation, and thankfully, they’re helping. For now he will continue with medication for treatment of his eyes.

Carla adopted Bradley in January 2020 from Ozzy and Friends Rescue after he was saved—along with ten other dogs—from a hoarding situation. Because of his trauma, he was extremely shy and withdrawn, hiding in his carrier for months and only eating at night. No one would adopt him, except Carla. With patience and love, Carla helped him come out of his shell and learn to trust again.

Now in his senior years, Bradley deserves to live without pain. Carla, a semi-retired TV-news freelancer who now works in the travel industry, is doing her best but can’t take on more debt to cover the veterinary bills, and has already paid more than she can afford for his heart tests and other treatments.

Your donation will help pay for Bradley’s dental surgery and continued eye care. Every dollar goes directly to the veterinarian, specifically for Bradley. The estimate for dental work is HERE.
