About the Campaign
Bobby is a 7-year-old male Rottweiler mix who has torn both CCLs (ACLs) and needs two TPLO surgeries to restore stability in his knees. Because Bobby is over 100 pounds, the surgical team does not want to do both at the same time. The plan is one TPLO first, then a second TPLO about 12 weeks later, followed by rehab/physical therapy so Bobby can walk, run, and live comfortably again.
Meghan says Bobby’s limping started as an on-and-off issue over the last year, especially after hard play, but it began lasting longer and longer. At his yearly dental visit, they decided to take a closer look, and that’s when they learned what was really happening: both knees are torn, and surgery is the only true fix. They’ve managed to save enough to cover roughly one surgery, but not the second—yet Bobby needs both to have a real chance at full mobility.
Bobby has been in Meghan’s family for seven years and has been the steady center through everything life throws at a family—breakups, new babies, marriage, and loss. Meghan describes him as the “rock” of the household: always excited for life, always ready to love, and the best reason to get outside. Their rescued kitten still treats Bobby like a mother, and their two-year-old Husky, Leeloo, can hardly go a minute without him.
Bobby’s origin story makes his family even more determined not to give up on him. Meghan’s mom found him for $100 when Meghan was 19, and later they learned he had come from a dog-fighting and breeding ring situation where he’d been discarded as the runt. Bobby survived that beginning and grew into the gentle, beloved family dog he is now—and Meghan wants him to have a future that matches the love he gives.
The financial strain is real. Meghan spent the last year laid off, working only part-time scheduling for a real estate photography company. Their household has been one income for much of that time, and they have a 4-year-old son. Meghan recently started a new job, but it’s only about $300 a week right now, and the family is still climbing out from a hard year. CareCredit is not an option, and the cost of two major surgeries is more than they can shoulder alone.
Donations will help cover Bobby’s second TPLO surgery and the follow-up care that makes recovery possible, so he can get back to running, playing fetch, and being the heart of his home. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian. Estimate below, click to enlarge:

Sending a little support your way ❤️ I know how stressful it can be trying to raise funds for a pet’s medical care, and I hope things start picking up for you soon. I have also used this organization to rasie funds. One thing that really helped me was joining Facebook groups specific to my dog’s breed and sharing the fundraiser there. People in those groups are usually very understanding and supportive because they love the breed too. I’d also recommend sharing it on the Nextdoor app since local neighbors are often willing to help pets in their community. Wishing you and your sweet pup the absolute best.
