About the Campaign

Kidney problems and

a fast heart!

Actually it is called a galloping heartbeat, and it is like what it sounds. Blaze, who is only 5 years old, has this fast, and arrhythmic heartbeat. You can read more details about this condition HERE.

What happened is that Blaze got really sick. His owner Julia took him to an emergency hospital and their tests showed his kidney’s were in a very bad state. His creatinine levels showed a 9+ when they should be under 2. It was bad, but with extensive care Blaze got through it. Often this condition is the result of kidney stones causing some sort of blockage, but he tested with no stones or crystals (the starting of stones). During all of this something else came out, his galloping heartbeat.

At the hospital

Julia got a bill for almost $6000 for Blaze’s treatment, which she has mostly had to put on credit. But now he also needs this heart condition diagnosed AND he needs at least one recheck for his kidneys (and the emergency hospital charges $400 just for a visit!).

Julia with Blaze

We have talked with Julia extensively and the plan is to have his follow ups for his kidneys and his heart diagnosis at a local clinic, that will be a lot cheaper. It is urgent, but not an emergency now. His last kidney test showed significant improvement with creatinine levels around 3, but they still need to get lower, which they probably are, but still… needs that test.

Blaze is a great family cat, a sweet boy that loves everyone.

Blaze with Julia’s Nephew Salvatore

Julia’s partner rescued him as a kitten off the streets of Los Angeles (he later moved to New York), and he has been a healthy cat until now. Perhaps his heart condition is related to what happened with his kidneys, maybe it is something like Hyperthyroidism, which can be dealt with, maybe something more serious. Heart problems are always serious, and cats can be especially prone to rapid development of heart issues if not treated.

Julia has spent all her money, and maxed her credit, on Blaze’s hospitalization, and cannot afford this further necessary care, so if you can help Blaze please consider a donation. All donations are held by us and paid ONLY to the veterinarian and only for Blaze! Thank you.

I know what it’s like to have a sick kitty and they don’t deserve missing out on treatment. Let’s get Blaze healthy soon.

Blaze was one of the pets that I wanted to donate last Friday. Due to the computer issue, I missed the chance. How can I donate the hundred to this poor baby?
