Tore up his knee being a good boy!

Blackie, a 9-year-old Lab mix, has always been Cheryl’s constant companion — and now he needs her more than ever. He recently tore the CCL in his right back leg while chasing the mail carrier, and he can’t walk without pain. TPLO surgery is the only way to restore his mobility.

Cheryl can cover part of the cost, but after losing three of her beloved pets earlier this year and spending nearly $4,000 on their care, she has no savings left. Blackie is her last dog, along with two cats, and she’s determined to give him the best chance at a pain-free life.

Puppy Blackie:

Blackie’s story with Cheryl began in 2016, when she was fostering a litter of puppies and their mom from the humane society. Blackie was just three weeks old when he stopped breathing in her care — Cheryl blew air into him, rubbed him, and shook him until he gasped for air. From that moment on, she knew she could never let him go.

Since then, they’ve been inseparable. Blackie has been Cheryl’s emotional rock through years of chronic pain, anxiety, and depression. When he tore his knee ligament, she knew she had to fight for his recovery — but she simply can’t afford the full cost of surgery on her own.
