About the Campaign
You can see how bad her legs are in the video ABOVE (tap PLAY).
Bikini was in the Los Angeles City shelter in South Los Angeles. They reported that she was aggressive and biting, and thus not adoptable to the general public. Bikini also had a skin infection. So the rescue came in and took her, only to discover she had dislocated knees, a condition called Luxating Patella.
This is almost certainly why Bikini was aggressive because this condition can be quite painful!
The rescue has paid for her treatments, and pre-surgery x-rays and tests, but they cannot afford the cost of the TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) on both legs. Poor Bikini’s condition is so bad that the doctor will do both legs at the same time. Usually one leg is done, allowed to heal, and then the next is done. But Bikini’s case is very severe and painful. The rescue is committed to working with her through the recovery.
Bikini is just 5 years old, and this surgery has a very high success rate! Let’s give this little 3lb doggy a pain free life, where she can walk and run and be a happy normal dog! Can you help Bikini with a donation today?
