About the Campaign
Sudden Paralysis
Benz is a 4-year-old French Bulldog with a big personality—and now, a serious spinal condition called IVDD that’s left him unable to walk. His mom, Valerie, is doing everything she can to get him life-changing surgery, but even after using her last paycheck and raising money from friends, she still needs help to cover the full cost.
Benz had a sudden flare-up last week. Within days, he lost the ability to walk. Valerie rushed him to the vet, and they confirmed he’s in stage 3–4 IVDD, which means he’s still eligible for surgery—and that the chances of success are very high.
Valerie has had Benz since he was a tiny pup. He was originally meant for breeding, but when her previous relationship ended, she took him in. They’ve been inseparable ever since: “He’s my support animal, and I’m his support human.”
Valerie works with adults with special needs as an occupational trainer at the school district, but she doesn’t get paid during the summer. She’s also a full-time student, studying to become a special ed teacher. Right now, she’s out of income and can’t wait—Benz needs surgery as soon as possible to avoid permanent paralysis.
She’s taking Benz to Mexico to reduce the cost, but the surgery, medications, and post-op care are still more than she can afford alone. Your donation will go directly to Benz’s care and help him get back on his feet—literally. Doctor texts:
