About the Campaign

Ugly growths on her eyes!

Belle, an 11-year-old pit bull, is confronted with a serious medical condition that needs immediate attention. Belle was adopted by her owner, Courtney, when she was just two years old, to save her from euthanasia due to breed prejudice. Belle has been a wonderful and healthy companion since then, until recently when she started developing growths in her eyes, or really next to them:

• Growth in her left eye started eight months ago
• The growth receded but returned recently, five times larger
• A similar growth developed in the right eye
• These growths sometimes get bumped or scratched, leading to profuse bleeding
• Vet’s recommendation to remove both eye growths

Courtney took Belle to the vet last week due to concerns about the size of the growths and their tendency to bleed. The vet, Dr. Mike from Ala Palm Veterinary Hospital in Highland, CA, estimated a cost of $650 for the removal of both eye masses.

This cost poses a significant financial challenge for Courtney’s family. Being a stay-at-home mom with her husband working a commission-based job in pest control, they have been financially struggling lately and can’t afford Belle’s surgery. Despite their financial difficulties, Courtney has committed to contributing $100 towards the cost if needed. The family had previously looked into Care Credit but found they didn’t qualify, leading them to seek help from us.

Belle’s family is just looking to get these growths off her eyes, which is truly medically necessary. We think the request they have is quite reasonable, the price good, and Belle deserving of the care!

By focusing on Belle’s medical needs, we aim to provide her with the necessary treatment to remove the growths in her eyes, improving her comfort and overall quality of life. All donations are held by FAD and ONLY paid to the veterinarian when treatment is performed, the owner receives no money.
