About the Campaign

Bear is an 8-year-old male Border Collie with bad dental disease. Louis can see heavy plaque on Bear’s teeth, especially in the back, and the vet has already recommended dental care. Bear will likely need a full cleaning and may need one or more teeth extracted.

Dental disease can become painful, especially when the back teeth are involved. Bear is a big, sweet dog, and Louis wants to get this taken care of before infection or mouth pain gets worse.

Bear came into Louis’ life about seven years ago, when Louis adopted him from the SPCA. Bear was just over a year old then. Louis had gone looking for a dog, met Bear in person, and was drawn to how friendly and calm he was. Bear came home and has been part of the family ever since.

The cost is the barrier. Louis is 33 and works in a warehouse. He originally adopted Bear with his ex, when they could share expenses, but now he is a single parent raising his 2-year-old daughter. Money is tight, and a dental procedure is more than he can manage alone.

Bear is not just Louis’ dog; he is part of his little girl’s life too. Donations will help cover Bear’s dental cleaning, extractions if needed, anesthesia, medications, and follow-up care so this gentle old boy can have a healthy mouth and feel better. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian.
