About the Campaign

Beans is a 6-year-old male cat with an injection-site sarcoma, a rare cancer that can develop where a vaccine or injection was given. Janet first found the tumor after Beans had been vaccinated, and surgery was done to remove it. But this cancer is aggressive, and when it returned, Beans needed more care right away.

The surgery has now been done, and the next step is chemotherapy to help keep the cancer in remission. This fundraiser is not for a vague or uncertain plan. Beans has already gone through the major surgery, and now he needs the follow-up treatment that gives him the best chance to stay well.

Kitten Beans:

Beans has been with Janet since he was only about a week old. She found him in a neighbor’s backyard on a hot day in May 2020, along with his brother, Buttons. Janet rescued both tiny kittens and raised them. Beans grew from a fragile baby into a beloved cat who is now fighting a very serious illness.

Janet and her husband, Robert, have done everything they can. They paid for consultations, X-rays, lab work, surgery, and care, but the cancer came back faster than they ever expected. They were referred to a cancer specialist the first time, but the cost was beyond what they could manage.

The cost is the barrier. Janet works two caregiving jobs, and Robert works as a Volkswagen technician. They have no savings and are living paycheck to paycheck. Janet cannot even afford health insurance for herself right now.

Beans is young, loved, and already through surgery. Donations will help cover his chemotherapy, oncology follow-up, medications, monitoring, and any needed rechecks so this little cat has the best chance to keep the cancer in remission. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian. The first document below is the surgery, already done and paid for. The second is the estimate for chemo, which is this fundraiser.
