About the Campaign
Severe Dental Pain
Bandit is a senior male Chihuahua who needs dental work and tooth extractions to end recurring abscesses and pain. His mouth is infected often enough that Gabrielle has been trying to manage flare-ups with antibiotics just to get him through, but that’s only a temporary patch, and Bandit still suffers when the next abscess appears.
Gabrielle first noticed the problem about a year ago and took Bandit to Banfield Veterinary, where she was told he had severe gum disease and might need all of his teeth removed. The estimate she was given was more than she could afford. She later took Bandit to another clinic (Animal Medical Center), where the vet felt some teeth could potentially be saved—but either way, Bandit needs professional dental treatment and extractions to stop these infections from coming back.
Bandit has been with Gabrielle since he was just 7 weeks old. Right now, the barrier is money, and Gabrielle’s family is going through an extraordinarily hard stretch. Gabrielle is disabled and has been dealing with major health crises: kidney cancer in 2024, recent neck surgery with a disc implant, back issues requiring injections, and two hernia surgeries—all within the last two years.
Her state disability has run out. The family has been relying on help from relatives since April.
Gabrielle is doing what she can to keep the household going, including home care work for about $900 a month, plus $810 a month toward rent, and food stamps for groceries—but there’s nothing left for a major vet bill. They don’t want to ask for help for themselves, but Bandit’s pain is something they can’t ignore.
Donations will help cover Bandit’s dental procedure and necessary extractions so he can stop living with recurring abscesses and finally be comfortable again. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian. Thank you for helping Gabrielle take care of Bandit when they truly don’t have anywhere else to turn. None of this is Bandit’s fault and he is in pain. Estimate below, click to enlarge:
