About the Campaign

Bone cancer,

but there is a solution

Ayla has to lose her rear leg. She needs amputation. Three legged dogs do fine. She will be fine. She will have a good life, and she will be cancer free!

Ayla is a service dog, providing a real service! Her owner Melanie has psoriatic arthritis, sometimes having difficulty standing and Ayla helps with this and balance. But there is more, Melanie’s husband committed suicide and attempted to murder her at that time, afterwards you can imagine she was quite traumatized. She got Ayla, a large and strong dog, to help her with this as well.

Last month Ayla started limping. After some consultations and x-rays the doctors were clear, she has bone cancer but it appears to be contained to the one leg. The bone deterioration is consistent with bone cancer, but all other indicators show it has not spread. The recommendation: amputate the leg.

Melanie is on disability, a fixed income, and has already spent over $1000 and maxed out her Care Credit account getting Alya diagnosed. Fortunately she also had a somewhat successful GoFundMe (see HERE) and has a small amount of money, but Alya still needs $1000 to get this procedure done. Also, time is of the essence with cancer! All donations are only to Ayla, paid only to the vet when the procedure is done. Three legged dogs live normal and happy lives, lets make that happen for Ayla!
