About the Campaign
Dental Surgery – But First an Echo for Her Heart
Autumn, a 10-year-old Chihuahua and Papillon mix, urgently needs dental work. Her teeth have become so painful that she’s stopped playing with her favorite tiny tennis ball and sometimes even swats at her mouth. But before she can safely undergo the procedure, Autumn must have an echocardiogram because of her history with serious heart issues.
When Adrian rescued Autumn back in 2015, she was just a year old and already diagnosed with pulmonary stenosis. Thanks to a surgery in 2020—funded with help from Free Animal Doctor—Autumn got her second chance at life. Now, nearly a decade later, she needs that same kind of help again.
This is a really important, or emotional case for us, because back then Free Animal Doctor was very small, and we rarely were able to raise so much money (over $5000) for one campaign. And it was such a great story too! Oh, and we did raise the money… one of our first big successes. And now, over years later, we get to help Autumn again!
Dental disease is common in small dogs, but for Autumn it’s especially risky. With her history of heart surgery, her vet requires an echocardiogram before anesthesia. Adrian has done his best to brush her teeth, but her small mouth and the progression of disease mean extractions are likely unavoidable.
Adrian teaches philosophy part-time at Fresno City College, and while he’s committed to caring for both Autumn and his other senior dog, Heidegger, the cost of the cardiology echo plus Autumn’s dental surgery is simply more than he can manage right now.
With your support, Autumn can safely receive the dental care she needs, free from pain and back to chasing her tennis ball again. All donations are held by us and paid directly to the veterinarian! Doctor note below, click to enlarge:

What a precious cutie pie Autumn is! I hope she gets her medical treatments soon, and has a successful outcome. Big hugs!
