About the Campaign

Help Atticus Overcome His Health Challenges

He needs bladder surgery urgently

Atticus, a brave dog battling a complex medical condition, requires urgent assistance. Diagnosed with diabetes three years ago, Atticus’s owner, Shanna, has worked tirelessly to manage his condition. Unfortunately, recent complications including urinary tract infections and bladder stones have made his health situation increasingly difficult.

Atticus’s Health Struggles:

  • Suffering from diabetes-related health issues
  • Antibiotic-resistant urinary tract infections
  • Painful bladder stones requiring removal
  • In need of stronger medications to manage symptoms

Shanna has taken Atticus for regular glucose checks and insulin dosage adjustments and helped him lose weight to keep his diabetes under control. Despite these efforts, treating his urinary tract infections and bladder stones has proven to be an immense challenge, leading to antibiotic resistance and the need for stronger medications.

Atticus now requires surgery to remove his bladder stones, estimated to cost $1,800. This procedure is expected to significantly improve his health, as his diabetes is mostly under control. In addition to the surgery costs, Shanna has already spent $700 on diagnosis and medication, and pays $250 to $400 a month for insulin, plus $150 per visit for glucose checks.

How You Can Help:

• Donate to the fundraising appeal for Atticus’s surgery

• Share this appeal with friends, family, and social media networks

By focusing on Atticus’s medical needs, we hope to provide him with the necessary surgery to overcome his health challenges and improve his quality of life. All donations are held by FAD and ONLY paid to the veterinarian when surgery is performed, the owner receives no money.

Thank you to everyone for making this possible. Without your support and generosity Atticus wouldn’t have been able to get his surgery so quickly. Although he’s uncomfortable and feeling betrayed by me he’s on the road to recovery and fingers crossed will be back to his old self in a couple of weeks. I cannot express how grateful we are that this grumpy little fur ball will be able to continue to be in our lives!
